Its a Double whammy!! Yep this time, R Online Read #11 will be showcasing two fabulous new short plays. 'Once upon a time in Pontypridd' by Heather Lister & 'Sitting duck season' by Robin Rice. 'Once upon a time in Pontypridd' Three women of different ages, get together in Pontypridd, to stitch and hear each others' stories. Behind the gossip and the "respectable" attitudes lie the temptations of the devil and the endurance of angels. This piece plays with the language and rhythms of English with a Welsh accent 'Sitting duck season' Set in 2000 in an isolated, rustic cabin in a forest in northern Vermont. Roberta is a high-powered Wall Street executive who is hiding out from the law. But she can't hide from herself. With themes of Love, loss, sexuality, childhood trauma and suicide. Join in our online Zoom call in which participants will be invited to read both these play together OR just sit back and listen from the comfort of your own home. The reading will be followed by a thought sharing session and opportunity to ask the play writers about their work, this time Joining us from NYC and Wales. From 18:00 -20:30 (BST) on Wednesday 30th of June . For this session we will ask for a £1.50 booking fee, which will confirm your spot and cover admin costs.
